Ever wonder about developing on Mono? The Mono project has been around almost as long as .Net. But the recent shift to mobile development where the world of software development is increasingly fragmented has brought a renewed focus on Mono for developers with .Net skills. Xamarin now stewards the ongoing development of Mono and offers MonoDroid and MonoTouch as product solutions for creating truly native mobile apps from a common base of .Net code. We’ll take a look at these products in general, talk about how they do what they do, and walk through some code to see how to organize your project for cross platform development.
Dennis Welu is some guy from Dubuque. He once won a poetry contest in 6th grade but swore poetry off for good shortly after. He’s spent 20 years now developing and managing development. Currently he is a Technical Lead at Cynergy , helping to create awesome user experiences tied to great technology.
